충북 보은군은 충북소방교육대 부지 조성과 기반 시설 설치를 위해 충청북도 균형발전사업비 28억 원을 확보했다고 15일 밝혔다.
진입도로·하수도 등 기반시설 구축
군은 이번에 확보된 예산을 교육대 운영에 필수적인 진입도로와 하수도 등 기반 시설 구축에 투입한다.
원활한 사업 추진의 토대를 마련하고 소방교육대 건립을 본격화한다는 방침이다.
예산은 도비 50％, 군비 50％로 구성됐다.
충청북도소방본부가 진행한 설계 공모에서는 종합건축사사무소 선기획과 ㈜선엔지니어링종합건축사사무소의 공동 작품이 최종 당선작으로 선정됐다. 교육대 건립 사업은 한층 속도를 내게 됐다.
부지 6만5124㎡ 규모…본관동·종합훈련탑 등 조성
충북소방교육대는 보은군 장안면 오창리 일원에 부지 6만5124㎡, 연면적 3580㎡ 규모로 조성된다.
본관동, 종합훈련탑, 실화재 훈련시설, 차량조작 훈련장 등이 들어선다. 총사업비는 232억5000만원이 투입되며, 2027년 완공을 목표로 하고 있다.
소방교육대는 도내 소방공무원들의 전문 교육·훈련을 전담하는 핵심 기관으로, 재난 대응 역량 강화와 안전 인재 양성에 크게 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
실화재 훈련시설과 차량조작 훈련장은 현장 중심의 실전 교육을 가능하게 해 충북 전체의 안전망을 한층 강화할 전망이다.
지역경제 활성화·일자리 창출 기대
군은 이번 교육대 유치를 통해 지역경제 활성화, 청년 및 전문 인력 일자리 창출, 정주 여건 개선, 소방·안전 관련 연관 산업 파급 효과 등을 기대하고 있다.
향후 충북소방교육대가 명실상부한 충북 안전 교육의 중심지로 자리매김할 수 있도록 적극 지원할 방침이다.
최재형 보은군수는 "충북소방교육대는 보은군의 균형 발전뿐 아니라 충청북도 전체의 재난 대응 역량을 높이는 중추적 시설이 될 것"이라고 말했다.
그는 "군에서도 기반 시설 조성과 행정 지원에 최선을 다하겠다"고 덧붙였다.

In the design competition conducted by the Chungcheongbuk-do Fire Headquarters, a joint work by Seon Planning Architectural Office and Seon Engineering Architectural Office was selected as the final winner. The academy construction project gained momentum.

The Chungbuk Fire Training Academy will be built in Ochang-ri, Jangan-myeon, Boeun-gun on a site of 65,124㎡ with a total floor area of 3,580㎡.
It will include a main building, comprehensive training tower, real fire training facility, and vehicle operation training ground. The total project cost is 23.25 billion won, with completion targeted for 2027.
The fire training academy is a core institution dedicated to professional education and training of firefighters in the province, and is expected to greatly contribute to strengthening disaster response capabilities and nurturing safety professionals.
The real fire training facility and vehicle operation training ground are expected to enable field-oriented practical education and further strengthen the safety network throughout North Chungcheong Province.
Expectations for Regional Economic Revitalization and Job Creation
The county expects regional economic revitalization, job creation for youth and professional personnel, improvement of settlement conditions, and ripple effects on firefighting and safety-related industries through this academy attraction.
The policy is to actively support the Chungbuk Fire Training Academy to establish itself as a veritable center of safety education in North Chungcheong Province.
Boeun County Governor Choi Jae-hyung said, "The Chungbuk Fire Training Academy will be a pivotal facility that enhances not only the balanced development of Boeun-gun but also the disaster response capabilities of the entire Chungcheongbuk-do."
He added, "The county will do its best in infrastructure creation and administrative support."
