◆ 송미령 장관, 충북도청·청주시 거점소독시설 현장 점검
송미령 농림축산식품부 장관은 21일 충북도청 재난안전대책본부와 청주시 소재 거점소독시설을 방문했다. 송 장관은 가금농장 방역관리 상황과 축산차량·운전자 소독 등 방역관리 실태를 직접 점검했다. 이번 점검은 최근 충북 괴산군과 충남 천안시·보령시 산란계 농장에서 고병원성 조류인플루엔자(AI)가 연이어 발생하면서 위험도가 높아진 데 따른 조치다.
◆ 동절기 AI 35건 발생…3개 혈청형 동시 확인
이번 동절기 고병원성 AI는 가금 16건, 야생조류 19건 등 총 35건 발생했다. 송 장관은 "이번 겨울철은 국내 처음으로 야생조류에서 3개 혈청형(H5N1·H5N6·H5N9)이 확인됐다"며 "그 어느 때보다 위험도가 높다"고 밝혔다. 송 장관은 "특히 12월과 1월이 가장 위험한 시기로 전국 어디서든 고병원성 AI가 발생할 수 있는 엄중한 상황"이라고 강조했다.
◆ 방역수칙 준수·소독시설 동파 방지 당부
송 장관은 "최근 발생농장 역학조사 결과 대다수 농가에서 소독 미실시 등 기본적인 방역수칙을 준수하지 않았다"고 지적했다. 송 장관은 "농장주는 외국인 근로자를 비롯한 모든 종사자에게 방역 교육과 지도에 힘써 달라"고 당부했다. 이어 송 장관은 청주시 북이면 거점세척·소독시설을 방문해 "차량과 운전자에 대한 꼼꼼한 소독과 겨울철 동파 방지 등 사전조치를 철저히 해달라"고 전했다.

◆ Minister Song Inspects Chungbuk Provincial Office and Cheongju Disinfection Facility
Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Song Mi-ryeong visited the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters at Chungbuk Provincial Office and a hub disinfection facility in Cheongju on December 21. Minister Song directly inspected the quarantine management status of poultry farms and disinfection practices for livestock vehicles and drivers. This inspection came as the risk level increased following consecutive outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) at layer farms in Goesan-gun, Chungbuk and Cheonan-si and Boryeong-si, Chungnam.
◆ 35 AI Cases This Winter…Three Serotypes Confirmed Simultaneously
A total of 35 highly pathogenic AI cases occurred this winter, including 16 in poultry and 19 in wild birds. Minister Song stated, "This winter, three serotypes (H5N1, H5N6, H5N9) were confirmed in wild birds for the first time in Korea." She added, "The risk level is higher than ever before." Minister Song emphasized, "December and January are the most dangerous periods, and we are in a serious situation where highly pathogenic AI can occur anywhere nationwide."
◆ Urges Compliance with Quarantine Rules and Prevention of Facility Freezing
Minister Song pointed out, "Epidemiological investigations of recent outbreak farms confirmed that most farms did not comply with basic quarantine rules, including failure to disinfect." She urged, "Farm owners should make efforts to provide quarantine education and guidance to all workers, including foreign workers." Minister Song then visited the hub washing and disinfection facility in Bugi-myeon, Cheongju-si and said, "Please thoroughly disinfect vehicles and drivers and take preventive measures such as freeze prevention to ensure facility operation during winter."
