정부의 10차 전력수급기본계획으로 추진 중인 '345kV 신계룡-북천안 송전선로 건설사업' 최적 경과 대역에 청주시 옥산면이 포함돼 주민들이 반발하고 있다.
한국전력이 주민설명회를 개최했으나 주민들은 설명회 전날 사업을 인지했다며 깜깜이 행정이라고 목소리를 높였다. 옥산면에는 이미 오송제2생명과학단지 송전선로 등 3개 노선이 지나고 있어 주민들은 기존 노선 활용을 요구했다.
이진태 옥산면 사종2리 이장은 "입지선정위원이 세종시 등에서 20여 명인데 옥산면은 1명뿐이라 불합리하다"고 호소했다.
한전은 내년 6월까지 최적노선을 선정할 예정이며 송전선로 통과 지역 주민을 추가한 입지선정위원회를 새로 구성하겠다고 밝혔다.

Lee Jin-tae, village head of Sajong 2-ri in Oksan-myeon, appealed, "There are about 20 site selection committee members from Sejong City and elsewhere, but only 1 from Oksan-myeon, which is unreasonable." KEPCO plans to select the optimal route by June next year and announced it will reorganize the site selection committee with additional residents from affected areas.
