◆ BRT 정류장 2개소 준공, 대중교통망 완성

대전시가 둔곡교차로 BRT 중앙정류장 설치공사를 완료했다. 구즉세종로 중앙(왕복 6차로)에 상행선 1개소, 하행선 1개소 등 정류장 2개소를 설치했다. 이번 사업으로 북대전과 남세종을 잇는 광역 대중교통 인프라가 완성됐다. 국제과학비즈니스벨트 내 입주민과 연구기관의 교통편의가 대폭 향상될 전망이다.

◆ 사업비 120억 원, LH와 시 함께 투입

총사업비는 120억 원이다. 한국토지주택공사(LH)가 둔곡·신동지구 개발사업 과정에서 100억 원을 확보했고, 대전시가 20억 원을 추가 투입했다. 대전시는 당초 계획에 없던 편의시설과 안전시설을 추가로 설치해 이용자 편의성을 강화했다.

◆ 토석 제거로 교통안전 확보

대전시는 BRT 정류장 설치 예상 문제를 사전 파악하고 교통안전 분석을 추진했다. 둔곡터널 인근에 위치한 토석을 사전 제거해 교통사고 위험요인을 제거했다. 박제화 대전시 건설관리본부장은 "BRT 중앙정류장 설치가 국제과학비즈니스벨트 활성화와 대전-세종 간 대중교통 서비스 향상을 통해 대전 북부 지역 발전의 촉매제가 될 것"이라고 말했다.

The Daejeon Metropolitan Government completed construction of the BRT central bus terminal at Dungok Intersection. Two terminals were installed on the central lanes of Gujseong-Sejong Road—one for northbound traffic and one for southbound traffic. The project established a regional public transportation infrastructure connecting North Daejeon and South Sejong. Residents and research institutions within the International Science Business Belt are expected to experience significantly improved transportation convenience.

◆ 12 Billion Won Investment by LH and City Government

Total project investment reached 12 billion won. The Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) secured 10 billion won during Dungok and Sindong district development, while Daejeon City invested an additional 2 billion won. Beyond the original plan, Daejeon City installed additional convenience and safety facilities to enhance user experience.

◆ Traffic Safety Secured Through Debris Removal

Daejeon City identified potential issues in advance and conducted traffic safety analysis before terminal installation. Rock and soil debris near Dungok Tunnel was preemptively removed to eliminate traffic accident risk factors. Park Je-hwa, Director of Daejeon Metropolitan Government's Construction Management Headquarters, stated, "The BRT central bus terminal will serve as a catalyst for International Science Business Belt activation and regional development of North Daejeon through enhanced public transportation service between Daejeon and Sejong."
