◆ 산불 제로 기록 현황

충북 보은군이 가을철 산불대책본부 운영을 성공적으로 마무리했다. 보은군은 지난 10월부터 운영해 온 '2025년 가을철 산불방지대책본부'를 12월 15일부로 종료했다. 대책본부 운영 기간 단 한 건의 산불도 발생하지 않았다. 보은군은 지난해 3월 23일부터 현재까지 633일이 넘는 기간 동안 산불이 한 건도 발생하지 않은 기록을 이어가고 있다. 이는 충북도내 산불 미발생 최장기간 기록이다. 가을철 산불 위험이 높은 시기에도 산불 '제로' 기록을 유지하며 2025년 산불 제로 목표 달성에 한 걸음 더 다가섰다.

◆ 예방 체계와 대응 기반 강화

보은군은 가을철 등산객 증가와 수확기 이후 논·밭두렁 및 농업부산물 소각 등 산불 위험 요인에 대비해 군청과 11개 읍·면에 산불방지대책본부를 설치했다. 공무원 19명, 산불전문예방진화대 36명, 산불감시원 63명 등 100여 명의 산불 대응 인력을 현장에 집중 배치했다. 보은읍 어암리 일원에 총사업비 10억 원을 투입해 산불대응센터를 신축했다. 연면적 392㎡ 규모의 센터에는 산림재해 상황실과 산불진화대 대기실, 산불진화차량 차고 등을 갖췄다. 올해 봄 전국적으로 대형 산불이 잇따른 가운데 보은군이 산불 '제로' 기록을 유지할 수 있었던 배경에는 강도 높은 예방 홍보가 있었다. 최재형 보은군수의 지시에 따라 차량용 방송 장비 100대를 신규 구입해 기존 장비를 포함한 총 120대를 활용했다. 군 전역을 순회하며 산불 예방 가두방송을 집중 실시했다.

◆ 향후 계획과 군수 발언

대책본부 운영은 종료됐지만 보은군은 연말까지 산불에 대한 긴장의 끈을 늦추지 않는다는 방침이다. 보은군은 산불진화헬기를 25일까지 배치하고 산불전문예방진화대 운영을 29일까지 연장한다. 산불 취약지역 순찰과 가두 방송 등 예방 활동을 지속적으로 이어갈 계획이다. 최재형 보은군수는 "산불은 한순간의 부주의로 발생하지만 회복에는 오랜 시간이 걸린다"고 말했다. 최 군수는 "대책본부 운영 종료 이후에도 현장 중심의 예방 활동을 이어가 군민의 안전과 소중한 산림자원을 지켜 나가겠다"고 밝혔다.

◆ Zero Forest Fire Record Status

Chungbuk Boeun County successfully concluded its fall forest fire prevention headquarters operations. ◆ Prevention System and Response Infrastructure Strengthening

Boeun County established forest fire prevention headquarters at the county office and 11 eup and myeon offices to prepare for forest fire risk factors such as increased hikers in fall and burning of rice paddy ridges and agricultural byproducts after harvest season. The county deployed about 100 forest fire response personnel in the field, including 19 public officials, 36 professional forest fire prevention and suppression team members, and 63 forest fire monitors. The county invested a total project cost of 1 billion won to construct a Forest Fire Response Center in the Eoam-ri area of Boeun-eup. The center with a total floor area of 392㎡ is equipped with a forest disaster situation room, forest fire suppression team standby room, and forest fire suppression vehicle garage. Intensive prevention promotion was behind Boeun County's ability to maintain its zero forest fire record amid successive large forest fires nationwide this spring. Following instructions from Boeun County Governor Choi Jae-hyung, 100 new vehicle-mounted broadcasting equipment units were purchased and a total of 120 units including existing equipment were utilized. Street broadcasts for forest fire prevention were intensively conducted while touring the entire county.

◆ Future Plans and County Governor's Statement

Although headquarters operations have ended, Boeun County maintains its policy of not letting its guard down against forest fires until the end of the year. Boeun County will deploy forest fire suppression helicopters until the 25th and extend the operation of the professional forest fire prevention and suppression team until the 29th. The county plans to continue prevention activities such as patrols of forest fire vulnerable areas and street broadcasts. Boeun County Governor Choi Jae-hyung said, "Forest fires occur from a moment of carelessness, but recovery takes a long time." Governor Choi stated, "Even after the headquarters operation ends, we will continue field-centered prevention activities to protect the safety of county residents and precious forest resources."
