종곡초등학교(교장 최세권)는 1월 15일부터 16일까지 이틀간 전교생 1~6학년 36명을 대상으로 경기도 이천 지산포레스트리조트에서 스키캠프를 운영했다.

이 캠프는 학생들의 신체활동 활성화와 도전정신 함양, 겨울철 스포츠 체험 기회 확대를 목표로 추진됐다.

학생들은 초급·중급 수준별 그룹으로 나뉘어 스키 전문 강사로부터 맞춤형 지도를 받았다. 기본 안전교육, 장비 착용법, 슬로프 이용 규칙을 익힌 후 실제 슬로프를 체험했다. 1~2학년 저학년도 안전장비를 갖추고 눈 위에서 기본 이동기술을 습득했다.

학교 관계자는 "전교생이 함께하는 스키캠프를 통해 학생들이 겨울 스포츠 매력을 느꼈다"며 "앞으로도 다양한 신체활동 중심 체험학습을 운영할 계획"이라고 말했다.

참가 학생들은 "처음엔 무서웠으나 선생님과 코치 도움으로 자신감이 생겼다" "친구들과 함께라 더 즐거웠다"고 감상을 전했다.

종곡초는 매년 스키캠프를 운영하며 이동 전 안전교육을 철저히 시행하고 교사 및 전문 강사가 전 과정에 동행해 학생 안전을 최우선으로 하고 있다.

Students Experience Winter Sports Through Challenge and Cooperation

Jonggok Elementary School (Principal Choi Se-kwon) operated a ski camp for all 36 students in grades 1-6 for two days from January 15-16 at Jisan Forest Resort in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province.

The camp aimed to promote students' physical activity, foster their spirit of challenge, and expand opportunities for winter sports experience.

Students were divided into level-specific groups (beginner and intermediate) and received customized instruction from professional ski instructors. After learning basic safety education, equipment how-to, and slope usage rules, students experienced actual slope skiing. Students in lower grades 1-2 also wore safety equipment and learned basic movement techniques on the snow.

A school official stated, "Through the ski camp where all students participated together, students felt the charm of winter sports," and added, "We plan to continue operating various physical activity-centered experiential learning programs in the future."

Participating students shared their impressions: "I was scared at first, but I gained confidence thanks to my teacher and coach," and "It was more fun doing it with friends."

Jonggok Elementary conducts annual ski camps while implementing thorough safety education before departure. Teachers and professional instructors accompany the entire process to prioritize student safety.
