진천군농업기술센터가 스마트농업 생태계 구축에 나섰다. 올해 추가경정예산 기준 933억7천500만원을 투입해 실증시험포 운영, 토양 관리, 쌀 산업 고도화, 방제, 농산물 품종 다양화, 토종벌 보존, 가축 열사병 예방, 가공 농산물 개발 등 8가지 핵심 사업을 추진 중이다.

진천군은 과학영농 실증시험포(10,119㎡)에서 온도, 습도, pH, EC, 토양수분장력 등 주요 환경 데이터를 자동으로 수집·분석하는 시스템을 구축했다. 신품종 수박 수경재배 실증과 가지 대목별 비교 실증을 통해 작물별 생육 특성과 스마트 환경에서 생산성·품질 향상 가능성을 확인했다. 연 150명 이상 농업인이 시험포에서 스마트 농업을 직접 체험하는 등 현장 교육 기능을 강화했다.
◆ 쌀·딸기로 시장 대응력 강화
진천군은 특수미 생산·가공 단지를 조성해 소비자 맞춤형 기능성 쌀 생산체계를 구축했다. 오갑리영농조합법인, ㈜에스엠바이오와 기능성 쌀 '도담쌀' 산업화 협약을 체결했다. 노후 도정시설 현대화, 밥쌀용 소포장 제품 개발을 추진했으며, 즉석밥·쌀과자·혼합잡곡 등 도담쌀 가공제품 3종을 출시했다. 직파재배, 드론 영농, 자율주행 이앙기 등 디지털 농업기술을 시범 확산했다.

◆ 토종벌·가공신제품으로 부가가치 창출
재래꿀벌 활용 수박 화분매개 기술 시범사업이 성과를 거뒀다. 시범 적용 결과 재래꿀벌은 일반 꿀벌만큼 안정적인 착과율을 보였으며, 일조 부족 상황에서는 일반 꿀벌보다 더 활발한 활동을 했다.
진천군은 올해 지역 농산물을 활용한 가공 신제품 '진천네 콩크림 쌀 티그레' 콩맛·흑임자맛과 '진천네 젤라또' 흑미맛·레드향맛을 개발했다. 진천산 가루쌀, 콩, 흑미, 레드향을 주원료로 사용한 제품이다. 군은 제조기술과 품질관리 매뉴얼을 바탕으로 가공 창업 역량과 시설을 갖춘 군민을 대상으로 기술이전을 추진할 예정이다.

◆ Strengthening Market Responsiveness with Rice and Strawberries
Jincheon County established a specialty rice production and processing complex to build a consumer-customized functional rice production system. The county concluded an industrialization agreement for functional rice 'Dodamssál' with Ogapri Farming Cooperative and SM Bio Co., Ltd. It promoted modernization of aging rice processing facilities and product development for single-serving packed rice, launching three Dodamssál processed products including instant cooked rice, rice snacks, and mixed grains. The county also expanded digital agriculture technology trials including direct seeding, drone farming, and autonomous riding rice transplanter.
To strengthen the competitiveness of local strawberry industry, the county distributed two new varieties 'Kumshil' and 'Honghee' to farms in the region. This improved the structure where the existing 'Seolhyang' variety accounted for more than 60% of total cultivation. 'Kumshil' has high sugar content and firm flesh, excelling in storability and transportability, while 'Honghee' has excellent harmony of aroma and taste, targeting premium consumers.

The native honeybee-based watermelon pollination technology demonstration project achieved results. In trial applications, native honeybees showed fruit set rates as stable as general honeybees, and in low-sunlight conditions demonstrated more active behavior than general honeybees.
Jincheon County developed processed products this year utilizing local agricultural products: 'Jincheon-ne Congee Cream Rice Tigre' in bean flavor and black sesame flavor, and 'Jincheon-ne Gelato' in black rice flavor and red grapefruit flavor. The products use Jincheon-produced flour rice, beans, black rice, and red grapefruit as primary ingredients. The county plans to promote technology transfer to residents with processing entrepreneurial capacity and facilities based on manufacturing technology and quality control manuals.
