◆ 김해서 학생 자율주행차 AI 챌린지 은상
충북 진천군은 4일 지난 11월 대전 목원대학교에서 열린 '2025 WCRC 자율주행 자동차 미션 챌린지'에서 김해서(진천 상신초) 학생이 은상을 수상했다고 밝혔다. 이번 본선 대회는 ㈜새온과 목원대학교 RISE 사업단이 주관하고 한국과학로봇교육콘텐츠협회가 주최했다. 대회는 지난 11월 15일부터 2일간 목원대학교 체육관에서 개최됐다. 전국 초·중·고 대학생 57개 팀 114명이 참여해 자율주행 로봇 '알티노(ALTINO)'를 활용한 AI 미션 수행 능력을 겨뤘다.
◆ K-스마트 AI 교육 영재학급 심화과정 참여 학생
김해서 학생은 진천군 학생 대상 K-스마트 인공지능(AI) 교육지원 사업의 영재학급 심화 교육과정에 참여 중이다. 김 군은 이번 대회 대학 일반부문에서 은상(국가기술표준원장상)을 수상했다. 김 군은 앞서 지난 8월 제14회 로봇 융합 페스티벌 자율주행 자동차 AI 미션 챌린지 일반부에서 대상을 수상하기도 했다.
◆ 영재학급 작품 전시회 27일 개최 예정
K-스마트 인공지능(AI) 교육지원 사업의 영재학급 심화 과정은 관내 초등학생 17명, 중학생 15명으로 구성돼 최신 AI·SW 교구를 배우는 과정이다. 심화 과정 수료 학생들의 작품 전시회가 오는 27일 충북 혁신도시복합혁신센터에서 열릴 예정이다. 이은영 진천군 교육지원팀장은 "진천의 AI 교육을 통해 우리 지역 인재가 두각을 드러내는 사례가 늘어나 보람차다"며 "앞으로도 지역 인재 양성에 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.

◆ Student Kim Hae-seo Wins Silver at Autonomous Vehicle AI Challenge
Jincheon-gun, Chungbuk Province announced on December 4 that student Kim Hae-seo (Jincheon Sangsin Elementary School) won a silver award at the '2025 WCRC Autonomous Vehicle Mission Challenge' held at Mokwon University in Daejeon last November. The finals were organized by Saeon Co., Ltd. and Mokwon University RISE Project Team and hosted by the Korea Science Robot Education Contents Association. The competition was held for two days from November 15 at the Mokwon University gymnasium. A total of 114 participants from 57 teams of elementary, middle, high school, and university students from across the nation competed in AI mission performance using the autonomous driving robot 'ALTINO.'
◆ Student Participating in K-Smart AI Education Gifted Class Advanced Course
Student Kim Hae-seo is participating in the gifted class advanced education course of the K-Smart Artificial Intelligence (AI) Education Support Project for Jincheon-gun students. Kim won the silver award (Director of Korean Agency for Technology and Standards Award) in the university general category at this competition. Kim also won the grand prize in the general category of the 14th Robot Convergence Festival Autonomous Vehicle AI Mission Challenge last August.
◆ Gifted Class Exhibition Scheduled for December 27
The gifted class advanced course of the K-Smart Artificial Intelligence (AI) Education Support Project consists of 17 elementary school students and 15 middle school students in the district, learning the latest AI and software teaching tools. An exhibition of works by students who completed the advanced course is scheduled to be held at the Chungbuk Innovation City Complex Innovation Center on December 27. Lee Eun-young, Education Support Team Leader of Jincheon-gun, said, "It is rewarding to see more cases of local talent standing out through Jincheon's AI education," and added, "We will continue to do our best to nurture local talent."
