◆ 훈장 수여, 20년 협력 성과 인정
충남교육청은 12월 17일 라오스 교육체육부 방문해 교류협력 20주년 기념 훈장 수여식 참석했다. 라오스 정부가 수여한 노동 훈장은 국가와 국민 발전에 공헌한 개인이나 단체에만 수여하는 훈장으로, 2005년부터 이어진 충남교육청과 라오스 간 교육정보화 교류 협력의 성과를 공식 인정한 결과다. 수여자는 김지철 충남교육청 교육감이다.
◆ 교육정보화·교원 역량·인프라 구축에 집중
두 기관은 20년간 교육정보화 기반 조성, 교원 대상 디지털 역량 강화 연수, 교육환경 개선에서 지속적 협력했다. 충남교육청은 현지 방문 기간 정책 협의, 교원 대상 디지털 역량 강화 연수 추진, 신규 컴퓨터실 구축 개소식 참석, 기존 인프라 관리 점검, 2026년 지원 예정 학교에 대한 사전 조사 등을 실행했다. 지난 7월 19일부터 29일까지는 라오스 교사 30명을 충남으로 초청해 디지털 역량 강화 연수를 진행했다.
◆ 국제 교육협력 범위 확대, ODA 사업 확대
충남교육청은 라오스 중심 협력에서 몽골과 우즈베키스탄으로 협력 국가를 확대했다. 김지철 교육감은 "이번 훈장 수여는 지난 20년간 글로벌 디지털 교육격차 해소를 위해 꾸준히 추진해 온 노력의 결실"이라며 "교육정보화 경험을 바탕으로 교육 공적개발원조(ODA) 분야에서 국제 사회와의 협력을 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다"고 말했다.

◆ Decoration Recognizes Two Decades of Educational Partnership
The South Chungcheong Education Office attended an award ceremony on December 17 at the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports to mark 20 years of educational informatization cooperation. The Labor Decoration awarded by the Lao government recognizes individuals and organizations that have contributed to the development of the nation and its people. The award officially recognized the collaborative achievements between the South Chungcheong Education Office and Laos since 2005. Kim Ji-cheol, superintendent of the South Chungcheong Education Office, received the honor.
◆ Focus on Educational Informatization, Teacher Training, and Infrastructure Development
The two institutions have maintained continuous cooperation over 20 years in establishing educational informatization infrastructure, strengthening digital competency of teachers through training, and improving educational environments. During the current visit, the South Chungcheong Education Office conducted policy consultations, implemented digital competency enhancement training for educators, attended opening ceremonies for new computer labs, inspected maintenance of existing infrastructure, and conducted preliminary surveys for schools scheduled to receive support in 2026. From July 19 to 29, the office invited 30 Laotian teachers to South Chungcheong Province for digital competency enhancement training.
◆ Expanding International Education Cooperation and Official Development Assistance Projects
The South Chungcheong Education Office expanded partner countries from Laos to include Mongolia and Uzbekistan. Superintendent Kim Ji-cheol stated, "This decoration is the fruit of our sustained efforts over 20 years to bridge the global digital education gap," and added, "Based on our educational informatization experience, we will continue to expand cooperation with the international community in the field of educational Official Development Assistance (ODA)."
