이용자 불만에 카카오 결국 친구탭 업데이트 철회했다.
카카오 카카오톡 친구탭에서 친구목록을 바로 볼 수 있도록 업데이트를 진행한다.
16일 카카오는 이번 업데이트로 카카오톡 친구탭 첫 화면에서 친구목록을 기본 화면으로 사용할 수 있다고 밝혔다.
카카오는 9월 업데이트에서 격자식 피드 형태의 친구탭을 적용했다. 석 달 만에 친구목록으로 복원된다.
카카오톡 상단에 친구와 소식 두 가지 옵션이 분리돼 제공된다. 이용자가 직접 선택해서 사용할 수 있다. 친구 옵션에서는 친구목록을 볼 수 있다. 소식 옵션에서는 피드형으로 친구 소식을 확인할 수 있다.
카카오는 15년 만에 카카오톡 대규모 개편을 단행했다. 개편 직후 이용자 불만이 이어졌다. 구글 플레이스토어와 애플 앱스토어에 별점 1점 리뷰가 대거 달렸다.
UX 그룹 피엑스디가 사용자 분석도구 '어피니티 버블'을 활용해 9월 23일 작성된 카카오톡 리뷰 1000건을 분석했다. 응답자의 42%가 "업데이트 전반에 불만족한다"는 의견을 남겼다. UI와 디자인 불만이 19%, 친구목록·프로필 불만이 10%로 나타났다.

Kakao will update KakaoTalk to allow users to view friend lists directly from the Friends tab.
On the 16th, Kakao announced that this update will allow the friend list to be used as the default screen on the KakaoTalk Friends tab home screen.
Kakao applied a grid-style feed format to the Friends tab in the September update. It will be restored to the friend list after three months.
Two options, Friends and News, will be provided separately at the top of KakaoTalk. Users can select and use them directly. Users can view the friend list in the Friends option. Users can check friend updates in feed format in the News option.
Kakao carried out a major overhaul of KakaoTalk for the first time in 15 years. User complaints followed immediately after the overhaul. One-star reviews flooded Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
UX group PXD analyzed 1,000 KakaoTalk reviews written on September 23 using the user analysis tool 'Affinity Bubble.' 42% of respondents left opinions stating they were "dissatisfied with the update overall." UI and design complaints accounted for 19%, and friend list and profile complaints accounted for 10%.
