충북 증평군이 16일 증평읍 사곡리 1630번지에서 공공임대형 지식산업센터 착공식을 개최했다.
이재영 군수, 충북도 의원, 증평군 의원, 기관·단체장, 충북 도내 대학교 산학협력단 관계자가 참석해 착공을 축하했다.
센터 조성에 총사업비 276억 원을 투입한다. 2028년 12월 준공을 목표로 진행된다.
건물 규모는 연면적 8,675.42㎡, 지상 4층이다.
센터 내부에 가변형 기업 입주공간 37개실, 커뮤니티 라운지, 코워킹 공간, 대강당, 다양한 규모의 회의실이 조성된다. 창업과 연구·협업에 최적화된 구성이다.
증평군은 센터를 기업 간 교류와 협업을 촉진하는 개방형 혁신 플랫폼으로 운영한다.
에듀테크를 중심으로 차세대 기술 기반 스타트업 집적을 목표로 설정했다. 첨단장비 구축, POC(개념검증) 지원 인프라, AI 활용 지원에 투자한다.
센터는 입주 기업의 연구·개발(R&D)과 사업화를 지원한다. 고부가가치 산업과 지역 특화 산업의 경쟁력 강화 거점으로 역할한다.
충북 도내 대학과 연계해 교육·기술 융합 산업 기반을 구축한다. 성장 가능성이 높은 스타트업과 초기·도약 단계 기업을 유치한다.
증평군은 주변 산업단지와 지역 인프라 연계를 강화해 청년 인재 유입과 양질의 일자리 창출, 지역 경제의 지속 가능한 성장으로 이어간다는 구상이다.
이재영 군수는 "센터 건립으로 증평군이 첨단 산업과 기업의 중심지로 도약할 수 있는 기반을 마련할 것"이라고 말했다.
이어 "완공까지 차질 없이 지원해 지역 산업 기반을 확장하고, 경제 활성화와 균형 발전을 동시에 추진하겠다"고 덧붙였다.

Seungpyeong County, Chungcheongbuk-do held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Public Rental Knowledge Industry Center on December 16 at 1630 Sagok-ri, Seungpyeong-eup.
County Governor Lee Jae-young, Chungcheongbuk-do Assembly members, Seungpyeong County Assembly members, agency and organization heads, and industrial-academic cooperation officials from universities in Chungcheongbuk-do attended the ceremony to celebrate the project launch.
Total project investment reaches 27.6 billion won. Completion is targeted for December 2028.
The facility spans 8,675.42 square meters across four floors above ground.
The center will feature 37 flexible corporate office spaces, a community lounge, co-working space, a large auditorium, and conference rooms of various sizes. The design optimizes spaces for startups and collaborative research.
Seungpyeong County will operate the center as an open innovation platform promoting inter-company exchange and collaboration.
The county targets aggregation of next-generation technology-based startups, particularly in educational technology. Investment plans include cutting-edge equipment installation, proof-of-concept (POC) support infrastructure, and AI utilization assistance.
The center will support research and development (R&D) and commercialization for tenant companies. It functions as a key hub strengthening competitiveness in high-value-added and regionally specialized industries.
In partnership with Chungcheongbuk-do universities, the county will establish an educational-technology convergence industry foundation. The county aims to attract high-growth-potential startups and early to growth-stage enterprises.
Seungpyeong County plans to strengthen linkages with surrounding industrial complexes and regional infrastructure, advancing youth talent influx, quality job creation, and sustainable regional economic growth.
Governor Lee Jae-young stated, "The center's construction will provide a foundation enabling Seungpyeong County to emerge as a hub for advanced industries and enterprises."
He added, "We will provide uninterrupted support through completion to expand regional industrial infrastructure while simultaneously promoting economic activation and balanced development."
