충남소방본부는 지난달 천안시 통합물류센터 대형화재를 계기로 110만 명 이상 천안·아산권 도민의 생활권 소방안전 강화를 위해 소방안전 인프라 재설계에 착수했다고 12월 7일 발표했다.
◆ 급속 팽창하는 천안·아산…소방수요 급증
천안·아산권은 최근 10년간 인구 16.1%, 공동주택 94.6%, 고층건축물 380.6%, 특급·1급 소방대상물 71.2%, 공장 34.6%, 다중이용시설 10.3% 증가했다. 수도권 인접 교통·물류 중심 거점으로서 주요 시설이 빠르게 확장되고 있다. TF는 고위험 시설 선제적 예방대책, 2만리터급 대용량 급수지원차 도입, AI 기반 첨단 예찰 자율드론 시스템 시범 운영, 스마트 소방청사 신·증축, 예방·대응 중심 인력 재배치, 현장지휘체계 강화를 종합 분석해 실행 전략을 수립한다.
◆ 석유화학단지 전문가 자문…정책 수립 추진
충남소방본부는 석유화학단지 등 소방시설 접목 방안을 소방분야 교수 자문으로 검토하고 천안·아산 생활권 도민 소방안전을 강화한다. 성호선 충남소방본부장은 "충남은 산과 바다, 도시와 농촌, 축산·수산업과 제조업이 공존하는 대한민국의 축소판"이라며 "빠른 초고령화 진입과 재난 유형 대형·복합화에 맞는 생활권 소방안전 체계를 지속적으로 강화하겠다"고 밝혔다.

Chungnam Fire Department announced on December 7 that it launched a comprehensive fire safety infrastructure redesign to strengthen fire safety in the Cheonan-Asan living area with over 1.1 million residents, following the large-scale fire at Cheonan Integrated Logistics Center last month.
◆ Rapid Expansion of Cheonan-Asan Region…Fire Response Demand Surges
The Cheonan-Asan region increased 16.1% in population, 94.6% in apartments, 380.6% in high-rise buildings, 71.2% in first-class fire-prone facilities, 34.6% in factories, and 10.3% in public-use facilities over the past decade. As a transportation and logistics hub adjacent to the Seoul metropolitan area, major facilities expand rapidly. The task force comprehensively analyzes proactive prevention measures for high-risk facilities, introduction of 20,000-liter high-capacity water supply vehicles, AI-based advanced reconnaissance autonomous drone system pilot operations, smart fire station construction and expansion, personnel redeployment focused on prevention and response, and strengthening field command systems to establish implementation strategies.
◆ Petrochemical Complex Expert Consultation…Policy Formulation in Progress
Chungnam Fire Department reviews petrochemical complex fire facility integration methods through consultation with fire safety academic experts and strengthens fire safety for Cheonan-Asan residents. Seong Ho-seon, director of Chungnam Fire Department, stated, "Chungnam is a microcosm of the Republic of Korea where mountains and seas, urban and rural areas, livestock and fisheries, and manufacturing coexist," adding "We will continuously strengthen the living area fire safety system to address rapid aging and large-scale, complex disaster types."
