◆ 기상이변 농가 경영 안정 지원
보은군 스마트농업과장 김범구는 "지급 공익직불금이 올해 강우와 고온 등 기상이변으로 어려움 겪은 농가에 경영 안정과 소득 보전에 실질적 도움이 되길 바란다"며 "지급이 마무리되는 시점까지 농가 불편이 없도록 신속하고 정확한 집행에 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.

◆ Public Interest Direct Payment Distribution Begins
Chungcheongbuk-do's Boeun County launched its 2025 Basic Public Interest Direct Payment Project in full swing. The county will sequentially distribute 14.7 billion won to 6,906 farming households. The county received applications from March through May this year and completed eligibility verification by the end of November. The final payment amounts reflect the results of inspections on 17 compliance requirements, including maintenance of farmland configuration.
◆ Two Types of Payment Distribution: Small-Farm and Area-Based Subsidies
The Basic Public Interest Direct Payment is divided into two categories: small-farm subsidies and area-based subsidies.
Small-farm subsidies will be paid to 2,970 farmers totaling 3.86 billion won. Recipients are agricultural operators meeting the following criteria: cultivation of less than 0.1-0.5 hectares, ownership of no more than 15.5 hectares of farmland, engagement in farming and residence in rural areas for three or more years, and non-agricultural income below 45 million won. A fixed 1.3 million won is paid regardless of cultivated area.
Area-based subsidies will be paid to 3,936 farmers totaling 10.84 billion won. The county divides promoted and non-promoted paddy and dry fields into three sections, applying unit prices ranging from 1.36 million to 2.15 million won per hectare for differentiated payment distribution.
◆ Support for Farm Management Stability Amid Abnormal Weather
Kim Beom-gu, head of Boeun County's Smart Agriculture Division, stated: "I hope that the distributed public interest direct payments will provide practical assistance in securing management stability and income preservation for farming households that have faced difficulties due to abnormal weather this year, including heavy rainfall and high temperatures. We will make every effort to ensure swift and accurate execution so that farming households experience no inconvenience until the completion of the distribution."
