◆ 우수기업 표창 수상

충청북도 영동군을 대표하는 와인 제조기업 영동와인공장(대표 여인성)이 8일 오후 청주 오스코 전시장에서 열린 '2025 충북 시군구 연고산업육성 통합 성과공유회'에서 우수기업 표창을 수상했다. 충청북도와 충북테크노파크가 도내 7개 시·군의 연고산업 육성 성과를 종합 평가하여 선정한 결과다.

◆ 선정 이유와 평가

영동와인공장은 지역 농산물 활용도, 제품 경쟁력, 브랜드 고도화, 매출 성장, 고용창출 등에서 높은 평가를 받았다. 지속적인 품질 개선과 패키지 디자인 리뉴얼로 소비자 접근성을 높였고, 영동군 지원사업을 활용한 시제품 개발·시험분석·마케팅 강화 등 공공지원 연계 성과가 두드러진 것으로 평가됐다. 영동와인공장은 원료 포도를 지역 농가로부터 전량 조달해 농가 소득 증대와 지역경제 선순환 구조를 구축했다.

◆ 일자리 창출과 향후 계획

영동와인공장은 제품 출시 이후 안정적인 매출 성장세를 보이며 지역 청년과 여성 인력을 중심으로 고용을 확대했다. 영동군농업기술센터 송홍주 소장은 "영동와인공장은 지역 자원을 활용해 경쟁력 있는 제품을 만든 대표 기업"이라며 "와인산업은 지방소멸 대응 산업 중 성장성이 가장 높은 분야"라고 평가했다. 영동군은 와인 제조시설 현대화, 프리미엄 제품 개발, 국내외 판로 개척, 와인관광 활성화 등 와인산업 생태계 전반을 강화하는 후속 정책을 추진할 계획이다.

◆ Outstanding Enterprise Award Recognition

Youngdong Wine Factory (CEO Yeo In-sung), a representative wine manufacturing company in Youngdong-gun, North Chungcheong, received an outstanding enterprise award on the afternoon of the 8th at the Esco Exhibition Hall in Cheongju during the '2025 North Chungcheong City and County Heritage Industry Development Integrated Performance Sharing Conference.' North Chungcheong Province and the North Chungcheong Techno Park selected the winner after comprehensively evaluating heritage industry development achievements across seven cities and counties in the province.

◆ Selection Criteria and Evaluation

Youngdong Wine Factory received high marks for utilization of regional agricultural products, product competitiveness, brand advancement, sales growth, and job creation. The company improved consumer accessibility through continuous quality improvements and package design renewal. Performance from public support linkages, including prototype development, testing analysis, and marketing enhancement utilizing Youngdong-gun support projects, stood out significantly. Youngdong Wine Factory procures 100 percent of its grape raw materials from local farmers, establishing a virtuous cycle of the regional economy while increasing farm household income.

◆ Job Creation and Future Plans

Following product launch, Youngdong Wine Factory demonstrated stable sales growth and expanded employment focused on local youth and female workers. Song Hong-ju, director of the Youngdong-gun Agricultural Technology Center, evaluated the company as "a representative enterprise that manufactures competitive products using regional resources," and noted that "the wine industry represents the highest growth potential sector among industries addressing rural depopulation." Youngdong-gun plans to pursue follow-up policies strengthening the entire wine industry ecosystem, including modernization of wine manufacturing facilities, premium product development, domestic and international market expansion, and wine tourism activation.
