세종특별자치시(시장 최민호)가 9일 종량제 봉투 디자인 개선을 발표했다. 시민들이 자주 혼동했던 음식물 쓰레기 봉투 색상을 기존 녹색에서 보라색으로 변경했다. 1인 가구 증가를 고려해 3ℓ 가로형 음식물 쓰레기 봉투를 새롭게 도입했다. 이번 변경은 지난 7월 14일 '세종시 폐기물 관리 조례' 일부개정을 바탕으로 추진됐다.

◆ 분리배출 오류 최소화 위한 시각 정보와 디지털 기술

종량제 봉투에 대형폐기물 품목을 담은 직관적 그림문자를 삽입했다. 세종시 상징물 '충녕이'를 활용해 친근감을 강화했다. 봉투의 QR코드를 세종시자원순환 누리집과 연동시켜 한국어 외 다국어 분리배출 정보를 시민들이 즉시 확인하도록 정보 접근성을 높였다.

◆ 크린넷 원활화와 판매 일정

잘못된 분리배출로 인한 크린넷(자동집하시설) 막힘 문제를 해소하고 분리배출 정확도를 높이는 데 이번 개선이 기여할 것으로 기대된다. 기존 종량제 봉투는 재고 소진 시까지 판매와 사용이 가능하며 새로운 디자인 봉투는 이달 중 판매를 시작한다.

The QR code on the bags was linked to the Sejong City Resource Circulation website, allowing citizens to immediately access waste sorting information in multiple languages beyond Korean, enhancing information accessibility.

◆ CleanNet Optimization and Sales Schedule

This improvement is expected to contribute to resolving CleanNet (automatic collection system) blockage problems caused by incorrect waste sorting and enhancing waste sorting accuracy. Existing garbage bags can continue to be sold and used until inventory is depleted, and new design bags will begin sales this month.
