이장우 대전시장은 "식장산 자연관광자산이 지하철역과 연결됨에 따라 동구 상권 활성화와 지역 관광 시너지가 기대된다"고 밝혔다. 시는 자연경관과 어우러지는 명품 역사로 조성하며 2027년 개통까지 추진할 계획이다.

The construction will utilize existing vehicle standby tracks within the Panam vehicle depot.
◆ Transit Accessibility Significantly Improves
The current distance from Panam Station to Sikjangsanitneun Intersection is 2.9 kilometers, requiring 47 minutes on foot. After the Sikjangsanitneun Station opens, the distance will be reduced to 450 meters with travel time shortened to approximately 7 minutes. Transit access from Banseok Station to Sikjangsanitneun Station will be completed within 45 minutes via subway. The total project cost is 19.8 billion won, with an opening target date of June 2027.
◆ Regional Tourism and Commercial Revitalization
Daejeon Mayor Lee Jang-woo stated, "With Sikjangsanitneun as a representative natural tourism asset connected directly to the subway station, significant synergies are expected for activating Dong-gu commerce and regional tourism."
