공주시는 2025년 한 해 동안 적극행정, 생활인구 확대, 공공기관 유치, 교육·복지 인프라 확충에서 성과를 냈다. 충남 최초로 시행한 아이돌봄서비스 본인부담금 전액 지원 정책은 이용 건수가 전년 대비 83% 증가했다. 행정안전부가 발표한 올해 1분기 생활인구는 평균 55만 6728명으로 충남도내 인구감소지역 중 1위를 기록했다. 공주시는 한국식품안전관리인증원, 축산환경관리원에 이어 올해 국립소방연구원 이전을 위한 협약을 체결했다. 드론 실증도시 2년 연속 선정, 드론특별자유화구역 지정으로 드론산업 선도 도시로 도약했다. 교육발전특구 100억 원 확보로 28개 교육사업을 추진했고, 스마트 경로당 236개소를 조성했다.
공주시는 2026년 병오년(丙午年)을 맞아 4대 핵심 전략인 명품도시, 경제도시, 교육복지도시, 문화관광도시 중심으로 시정을 이끌어간다. 인공지능(AI) 기반 행정혁신 강화, 스마트주차장 연동, 송선·동현지구 7,103세대 신도시 개발, 첨단 업종 기업유치, 스마트공장 확대 등을 추진한다. 교육발전특구 사업 확대, 중학생 국외체험, 아이돌봄 지원 확대, 24시간 돌봄센터 운영, 백제문화제 명품화, 금강 국가정원 조성 등도 계획했다. 공주시는 올해보다 441억 원 증가한 1조 506억 원 규모의 2026년도 예산안을 시의회에 제출했다.
