◆독감 환자 일주일 새 2.2배 증가
11월 들어 인플루엔자(계절 독감) 환자가 급증하며 유행이 빠르게 확산하고 있다. 질병관리청은 14일 의원급 의료기관 인플루엔자 외래환자 감시 결과를 발표했다.
올해 45주차(11월 2일~11월 8일) 외래환자 1000명당 인플루엔자 의사환자 분율은 50.7명을 기록했다. 전주 22.8명보다 2.2배(122%) 증가한 수치다. 인플루엔자 의사환자는 38도 이상 발열과 함께 기침, 인후통 등 증상을 보이는 사람을 말한다.
◆어린이·청소년 집단 유행 심각
독감 유행은 어린이와 청소년 집단에서 특히 심각하다. 45주차 712세 독감 증상 환자는 외래환자 1000명당 138.1명에 달했다. 16세는 81.1명, 13~18세는 75.6명을 기록했다. 모두 전체 연령 평균 50.7명을 크게 웃도는 수치다.
이번 25-26절기 독감 유행은 예년보다 이른 시기부터 확산하고 있다. 유행주의보는 작년보다 약 두 달 빠른 지난달 17일 발령됐다. 당시 외래환자 1000명당 의사환자 수가 유행 기준 9.1명을 넘어섰다.
이후 환자 발생 규모는 42주차 7.9명, 43주차 13.6명, 44주차 22.8명, 45주차 50.7명으로 계속 증가하고 있다.
◆지난 절기 수준 유행 전망
질병청은 이번 절기 유행이 지난 10년간 가장 정점 규모가 높았던 직전 절기 만큼 커질 수 있다고 전망했다. 지난 절기는 올해 1주차에 외래환자 1000명당 의사환자 수 99.8명으로 최고치를 기록했다.
보건 당국은 고위험군을 중심으로 예방접종을 서둘러 달라고 당부했다. 65세 이상 어르신, 임신부, 생후 6개월~13세 어린이는 국가예방접종 대상으로 무료 접종을 받을 수 있다.

◆Flu Patients Increase 2.2 Times in a Week
Influenza (seasonal flu) patients are rapidly increasing in November as the epidemic spreads quickly. The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency announced the results of influenza outpatient surveillance at clinic-level medical institutions on the 14th.
In week 45 of this year (November 2-8), the rate of influenza-like illness patients per 1,000 outpatients recorded 50.7. This is a 2.2-fold (122%) increase from 22.8 in the previous week. Influenza-like illness patients refer to people showing symptoms such as cough and sore throat along with fever of 38 degrees or higher.
◆Serious Epidemic Among Children and Adolescent Groups
The flu epidemic is particularly serious among children and adolescent groups. In week 45, flu symptom patients aged 7-12 reached 138.1 per 1,000 outpatients. Ages 1-6 recorded 81.1 and ages 13-18 recorded 75.6. All figures significantly exceed the overall age average of 50.7.

The KDCA predicted that this season's epidemic could grow as large as the previous season, which had the highest peak scale in the past 10 years. Last season recorded a peak of 99.8 illness patients per 1,000 outpatients in week 1 of this year.
Health authorities urged high-risk groups to hurry with preventive vaccination. People 65 and older, pregnant women, and children from 6 months to 13 years old can receive free vaccination as national vaccination targets.
