◆토양 전염병 무사마귀병 방제 지원
예산군은 '배추 무사마귀병 방제 지원사업'을 추진한다고 밝혔다. 배추 무사마귀병은 토양 전염성 병해로, 감염된 밭에서는 배추 뿌리에 혹이 생긴다. 양분과 수분 흡수가 원활하지 않아 생육이 저조해지고 수확량이 크게 감소한다.
병원균은 토양 내에서 최대 10년 이상 생존한다. 사전 예방 중심의 관리가 필수적이다. 예산군은 봄배추 최대 주산지 중 하나로 현재 522농가가 203㏊ 규모의 배추를 재배하고 있다.
◆12월 12일까지 신청…내년 1월 대상자 선정
사업 신청은 12월 12일까지 해당 읍면행정복지센터 산업팀에서 접수받는다. 예산군은 내년 1월 대상자 선정을 완료한다. 봄배추 재배 농가에 약제를 적기에 공급할 예정이다.
군은 이번 사업을 통해 병원균 확산을 사전에 차단하고 농가의 안정적인 생산을 도모할 계획이다.
◆예방 중심 방제로 경영 안정 도모
군 관계자는 "무사마귀병은 한 번 발생하면 장기간 토양에 잔존해 피해를 주는 병해"라고 말했다. 그는 "예방 중심의 방제가 무엇보다 중요하다"며 "이번 사업을 통해 병원균 확산을 효과적으로 막고 배추 재배농가의 경영 안정과 지역 농업 경쟁력 강화에 기여할 수 있길 바란다"고 밝혔다.
