충북도는 다음 달 15일까지 영농폐기물을 집중 수거한다고 12일 밝혔다.

도는 11개 시군, 한국환경공단, 지역농협, 영농단체 등과 협력해 수거보상금 대상인 폐비닐과 폐농약 용기류를 수거할 계획이다. 반사필름, 차광막, 타이백 등 보상금 비대상인 영농폐기물에 대해서도 도비지원사업을 통해 함께 수거·처리한다.

방송, 안내문, 현수막 등을 통해 올바른 영농폐기물 분리배출을 안내하고, 과거 불법소각 적발 지역, 산불취약지역 등을 중심으로 불법 소각·매립 단속도 병행한다. 적발 시 관련법에 따라 공익직불금 감액 또는 과태료 부과 등 행정처분에 나선다.

도 관계자는 "영농폐기물의 불법소각 행위가 미세먼지 발생의 주요 원인으로 지적되고 있다"며 "이번 집중수거 기간 농촌지역 환경오염을 예방하고 깨끗한 농촌 생활환경을 조성해 나가겠다"고 말했다.

North Chungcheong Province announced on the 12th that it will intensively collect agricultural waste until December 15.

The province plans to collect waste vinyl and pesticide containers eligible for collection rewards in cooperation with 11 cities and counties, the Korea Environment Corporation, local agricultural cooperatives, and farming organizations. Agricultural waste not eligible for rewards, such as reflective film, shading nets, and tie-backs, will also be collected and processed through provincial budget support projects.

Proper separation and disposal of agricultural waste will be guided through broadcasts, notices, and banners, while crackdowns on illegal incineration and burial will be conducted concurrently, focusing on areas previously caught illegally incinerating and forest fire-vulnerable areas. When caught, administrative measures such as reduction of public interest direct payment or fines will be imposed according to relevant laws.

A provincial official said, "Illegal incineration of agricultural waste is being pointed out as a major cause of fine dust generation," adding, "During this intensive collection period, we will prevent environmental pollution in rural areas and create a clean rural living environment."
