보은교육지원청과 보은군 어머니후원회는 11일 보은읍 한양병원 사거리에서 가래떡데이 행사를 개최했다. 행사는 지역 인재 육성을 위한 장학기금 조성을 목적으로 진행됐다.

구경숙 어머니후원회 회장은 "후원회원들이 직접 준비한 가래떡을 판매했다"고 밝혔다. 그는 "지역사회 각계각층의 적극적인 참여로 상당한 기금을 확보했다"며 "수익금은 보은교육지원청에 장학기금으로 기탁할 예정"이라고 말했다.

Koo Kyung-sook, chairperson of the Mothers' Support Group, stated that "support group members sold garaetteok they prepared themselves." She said, "We secured considerable funds through active participation from all sectors of the local community," adding that "the proceeds will be donated to the Boeun Office of Education as a scholarship fund."
