공주시의회는 14일 공주시청 3층 대백제실에서 '공주시 왕도심 미래를 위한 전략 마련 시민토론회'를 개최했다.

공주시의회와 공주시 언론인협회가 공동 주관한 토론회는 공주시 왕도심의 발전 방향을 모색하고, 교육·문화·경제 등 주요 현안을 시민과 함께 논의하기 위해 마련됐다.

기조발제는 공주향토문화연구회 최창석 회장이 맡았다. 최 회장은 '공주 왕도심 미래를 위한 전략 마련'을 주제로 발표했다.

최 회장은 왕도심의 역사와 문화적 가치를 기반으로 한 지속 가능한 발전 전략을 제시했다. 교육·문화·경제의 균형 있는 도시 재생의 필요성을 강조했다.

중학교 재배치·전통시장 활성화 등 논의

토론에서는 중학교 재배치, 세계유산 보존과 활용, 전통시장 활성화, 왕도심 재생 방안 등을 주제로 폭넓은 논의가 이루어졌다.

토론에는 노종우 공주교육지원청 교육과장, 이일주 공주문화원장, 임재일 사회문화예술연구소 오늘 대표, 송두범 공주학연구원 초빙연구위원 등이 참여해 다양한 의견을 제시했다.

좌장을 맡은 김권한 의원은 "오늘 논의되는 주제들은 공주시의 미래 비전을 정하는 핵심 의제들"이라고 말했다.

그는 "시민의 의견과 전문가의 지혜를 모아 실질적 대안이 마련되길 기대한다"고 덧붙였다.

"제안 의견 정책에 적극 반영"

임달희 의장은 "왕도심은 공주시의 역사와 문화, 경제의 중심인 만큼 그 비전은 곧 공주시 전체의 미래와 직결된다"고 말했다.

그는 "오늘 토론회에서 제시된 의견들이 공주시의 새로운 도약을 위한 밑거름이 되길 바란다"고 밝혔다.

공주시의회는 이번 토론회를 통해 제안된 의견들을 면밀히 검토하여 향후 정책 수립과 의정활동에 적극 반영할 계획이다.

의회는 앞으로도 시민과 함께 소통하며 현장의 목소리를 정책으로 연결하는 열린 의정활동을 지속해 나갈 방침이다.

The forum co-hosted by Gongju City Council and Gongju City Journalists Association was prepared to explore the development direction of Gongju City's royal capital center and discuss major issues such as education, culture, and economy together with citizens.

The keynote presentation was given by Choi Chang-seok, chairman of the Gongju Local Culture Research Association. Chairman Choi presented on the theme 'Strategy Development for the Future of Gongju's Royal Capital Center'.

Chairman Choi presented sustainable development strategies based on the historical and cultural value of the royal capital center. He emphasized the need for balanced urban regeneration of education, culture, and economy.

Discussion on Middle School Relocation and Traditional Market Revitalization

The discussion covered a wide range of topics including middle school relocation, preservation and utilization of world heritage, traditional market revitalization, and royal capital center regeneration plans.

Participants in the discussion included Noh Jong-woo, Director of Education at Gongju Office of Education, Lee Il-joo, Director of Gongju Cultural Center, Lim Jae-il, Representative of Social Culture and Arts Research Institute Oneul, and Song Doo-beom, Visiting Research Fellow at Gongju Studies Research Institute, who presented various opinions.

Council member Kim Gwon-han, who served as moderator, said, "The topics discussed today are core agendas that determine Gongju City's future vision."

He added, "I hope practical alternatives will be prepared by gathering citizens' opinions and experts' wisdom."

"Actively Reflect Proposed Opinions in Policy"

Chairman Lim Dal-hee said, "As the royal capital center is the center of Gongju City's history, culture, and economy, that vision is directly connected to the future of all of Gongju City."

He stated, "I hope the opinions presented at today's forum will become the foundation for Gongju City's new leap forward."

Gongju City Council plans to carefully review the opinions proposed through this forum and actively reflect them in future policy establishment and legislative activities.

The council plans to continue open legislative activities that communicate with citizens and connect field voices to policies.
